Thank God (or as a result), Mom Queen Elinor wears the pants in the family and she does it firmly but gently. Dad King Fergus lost his left leg to a bear monster and is not the best ruler. Brave starts out as a fairly conventional fairy tale family movie with a broken royal family. Thanks for Tangled but I much prefer Brave! To me, it looks like we might be coming back to classic dark fairy tales and I like that.
However, with a few dark and scary passages, the movie also hovers on the edge of the more somber Princess Mononeke or The Secret of Kells – while never quite getting there because of lighthearted humor. In Brave, you’ll get the high standards Pixar has gotten us used to with stunning Scottish landscapes, fun Celtic folklore and brawny jokes. Tradition being represented by mom Queen Elinor, the movie revolves around the complex mother-daughter relationship and the political consequences of a selfish act of teenage rebellion. In a nutshell, Brave is the story of Merida, a Scottish princess who wants to break away with tradition as she becomes her own person. I got a big bear hug and heartfelt kisses during 10 minutes. I took my little girls to a “ Brave” preview at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank yesterday and Brave really hit a chord with our family. If you’re a mom taking your daughter to the movies, get ready for a big bear hug after the credits roll. One wisp is last seen near the end of the film where it waves at the viewers and vanishes."BRAVE" Merida following a Wisp. When Mor'du is killed, the spirit of the Prince is freed, and he became a Wisp. The wisps appear to her again two times, to guide her to the castle ruins where Mor'du lives, and later to lead her to her mother in danger. Years later, she encounters them again, and following their path, led her to the Witch's cottage where she receives a fate - a changing spell. She soon follows them, not knowing that she is being stalked by Mor'du, but they lead her back to her family before he can attack. Princess Merida discovered the existence of the Will O' the Wisps at a young age while trying to retrieve an arrow in the forest. They play an important role in the story, as they can lead one to their fate and destiny. They have the appearance of small floating bright blue-colored lights.
